Volunteers and Students can participate in observing, volunteering,
and shadowing at many Elite Therapy Center clinics.

Students and Volunteers

For general volunteers and student shadowing, we accept high school and college students to observe, shadow, and volunteer in a pediatric clinic setting. This role requires a mandated one hour training. Scheduled monthly, please register below.

Interns

Interns are students completing an internship in a healthcare setting. This role includes work in both administrative and clinical settings, is non-paid, and requires an interview. Interns are selected by directors.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork students are in graduate school and complete multi-week rotations with supervising therapists. This role is garnered through a contract with a graduate school and education coordinator of the applied discipline.

Capstone

Doctoral Capstone students are students in graduate school who are completing their final project to graduate with their doctoral degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy.

UPCOMING TRAINING DATES

Training for ALL locations is at the Waco Clinic.

You must complete ALL criteria in order to participate: 

  • Complete a group training course (ONSITE at our Waco clinic – no individual trainings offered)
  • Complete Student Information Form, HIPAA Form, and Confidentiality Agreement (forms will be available in electronic format in your registration email confirmation )
  • Bring a background check from your school or provide $16 to have one completed (Venmo @elitetherapycenter – memo Student Training) *In order to provide the highest safety for our staff, patients and volunteers, participation in the Elite program is contingent on the background check.

Volunteer/Observing/Job Shadowing Program:

  • We accept students in their Junior/Senior years of High School and College Students to learn about careers in pediatric therapy
  • This program is ALL INCLUSIVE. The roles do not separate between volunteering, job shadowing, and observation
  • No client care or hands-on training is conducted. All access to patients is fully supervised
  • You will be in charge of scheduling and keeping track of your own hours after completing your training
  • Our office manager or therapists will sign your school form (to verify completion of your hours served)

You must complete official forms AND attend an onsite training to volunteer or shadow. Upon registering for a scheduled training, you will receive a confirmation email with links to complete the forms below:

  • Confidentiality Agreement 

TRAINING IS GOOD FOR ONE YEAR ONLY
Once you have completed an onsite training and completed all your forms, can arrive at a clinic and serve hours that are conducive to your schedule.
